FAIR2Adapt
FAIR to Adapt to Climate Change
Project Description
The FAIR2Adapt is a multidisciplinary project geared towards transforming data into actionable knowledge to shape climate adaptation strategies. By leveraging and collaborating with EOSC, we fully tap into the EOSC’s wide range of services, the FAIR Implementation Framework Catalogue of Resources, and align with the EOSC interoperability framework.
GFF's Role
GFF plays a role in the FAIR2ADAPT project, by being involved in a number of Work-Packages. The main responsibility for GFF is taking the lead in WP 5, whereby “User Requirements” and “Community Capacity Building” are the main focus points.
WP5 aims to streamline the FAIR2Adapt user experience, fostering an interactive and responsive community environment.

CDIF4EOSC
Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework for European Open Science Cloud
Project Description
Going beyond the original FAIR principles, CDIF4EOSC will develop a FAIR-by-design approach for creating FAIR digital objects. The overarching objective of the project is to enable FAIR integration by developing the CDIF4EOSC Playbook and situating this at the heart of EOSC practices, and fully integrated in the EOSC Federation.
GFF's Role
Within this project GFF is responsible for FAIR training, FAIRification as well as I-ADOPT.
NIAID
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
Project Description
The project aims to increase the utilization and impact of NIAID data resources by applying FAIR principles.
The initiative focuses on NIAID's specific needs, working incrementally and considering broader interoperability within the organization.
This effort is motivated by the desire to increase data usage, reduce time for data discovery and cleanup, and advance AI readiness.
GFF's Role
Within this project, GFF is helping the American NIH organization, specifically the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). GFF delivers the tasks in close collaboration with GO FAIR USA and with the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). Christine Kirkpatrick is the leading officer for our combined engagement. GFF has a number of tasks, such as providing FAIR related training, developing FAIR Implementation Profiles (FIPs) and assisting in the FAIR evaluation of 10 data sources from the NIH network. The project is proceeding successfully and will be continued until the end of September 2027.

PARC
Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals
Project Description
Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals aims to develop next-generation chemical risk assessment to protect human health and the environment. It supports the European Union's Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and the European Green Deal's “Zero pollution” ambition with new data, knowledge, methods and tools, expertise and networks.
GFF's Role
Within this project GFF is responsible for FAIR training as well as FAIRification.

I-ADOPT
InteroperAble Descriptions of Observable Property Terminology
Project Description
The I-ADOPT Framework is an ontology primarily designed to facilitate interoperability between existing variable description models (including ontologies, taxonomy, and structured controlled vocabularies). One of the challenges in representing semantic descriptions of variables is getting people to agree about what they mean when describing the components that define the variables. The I-ADOPT ontology addresses this by providing core components and their relations that can be applied to define machine-interpretable variable descriptions that re-use FAIR vocabulary terms.
GFF's Role
GFF plays a pivotal dual role in advancing the I-ADOPT initiative. Beyond providing general patronage to support the framework's growth, GFF leads the semantic vision and orchestrates the development of the I-ADOPT service, ensuring high-quality standardization across data domains.
